This scholarship is available to students who have made an impact to another person, a small group, or a community through self-sacrifice. This award celebrates the power of helping others–whether it is through offering time and hard work, teaching others, or enacting positive change in the community.
Award Amount: $2,000, rewarded to one student annually. Paid from the Samuel E. Wilson Scholarship Fund.
Availability: Beginning in 2019. Stay tuned for details.
Update #1: The scholarship is officially available on unigo.com! The deadline for submission is May 31st, 2019 (now closed).
Update #2: Due to the influx of donations to the scholarship fund, we will be able to select two students this year to each receive the full $2,000!
Application Process: Applicants will submit an essay (1,000 words or less). Choose from one of the following topics:
- How do you volunteer your time to others (whether it is family, friends, or to your community)? What has your volunteer experience taught you?
- What does self-sacrifice mean to you? Who is someone you admire for their service of others? What specifically do you admire, and how have they impacted you?
Submissions: Prospective students can send their submissions to scholarship@samuelewilson.com.
Donations: Donations can be made by PayPal to scholarship@samuelewilson.com. Please contact scholarship@samuelewilson.com for additional donation options.
Keep up the good work
Will do, Isabel! I’m happy to serve. There are so many deserving people out there.
Is this scholarship avaible for highschoolers?
Is this scholarship available for high schoolers?
Yes it is! It is available for high school students that will be attending a college or university beginning in Fall 2019. My apologies for the delay in response. I missed this comment. If you were waiting for a response to this, you can still submit your application and mention this comment.
What email do we send the scholarship to, I’ve tried numerous attempts to emailing my application in but it’s not working! If you could help me out before the day ends that would be great because I worked hard on this scholarship!
Hi Anisa! The email for submissions is scholarship@samuelewilson.com. Can you email me a plain email (without submitting any attachments) just to make sure I’m able to get your email? I appreciate your hard work on this! I’ll make sure your application gets counted.
I’m so sorry for the delay, I sent it just now through the email and now it works! Hopefully it delivered and I hope it still gets considered as an application! Thank you so much for your help and again I apologize for the late reply.
Not a problem at all! We received your submission. 🙂
Will the two winners get $ 2,000 annually each year or once?
Each year, we will select a winner. While we anticipate this being different students each year, the same person can certainly win multiple years in a row 🙂
Hello! Will the Samuel E. Wilson volunteer scholarship this year as well? Thank you and God bless!
